At Sir William Ramsay School, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring that the highest priority is given to following guidance and regulations to safeguard all our students.
Reporting a concern
Safeguarding, Bullying & Discrimination
If you are worried about feeling safe in school, an incident(s) of bullying or any sort of prejudicial or discriminatory behaviour towards you or others please use the form below to report it to us in school. The information you report will only be shared with other relevant members of staff if we are worried that your or their safety is at risk.
Please do remember that you can seek support from any of our Safeguarding Team if you have any concerns.
Governors' vision of safeguarding is one:
- which is centred on the needs of the child.
- where a child can flourish at Sir William Ramsay School, safe from fear, exploitation or oppression.
- which involves the participation of the whole school community.
- that learns from incidents and does not seek to blame, unnecessarily.
- where everyone is confident and prepared to deal with the safety of the child.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
- protecting children from maltreatment.
- preventing impairment of children's health or development.
- ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
- taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
Information is shared on a ‘need to know’ basis when in the best interests of a child, this may be with staff internal to the school and/or external agencies at a level deemed necessary and appropriate. If it is felt a child is at significant risk of harm then parents/ careers may not be informed immediately.
