Sir William Ramsay School 2020 GCSE exam results

‘We have had some truly outstanding results in a difficult year. Students have had to contend with the normal pressures of Year 11 and the stress of the abrupt end to the year. In addition, students have coped admirably with the anxiety created by the results process. Our students should be proud of their hard work before lockdown. I would like to thank the students, staff, parents, and governors for their dedication and hard work.’ Mrs McLintock, Headteacher.

Academic performance at the school has continued to consistently improve. This year our students have been awarded 58 grade 9’s and 76 grade 8’s. While nationally these figures are higher, ours reflect the focus the school has given to our most able students, as in 2019 our students achieved 33 grade 9’s and 69 grade 8’s.

‘We were disappointed to not be able to see our students open their well-deserved results in the usual way. However, we send our congratulations to all our students who have navigated their way through a turbulent year. I am looking forward to seeing many of them stay in our sixth form’ said Miss Sparks, the Head of Year 11.
