Curriculum Overview
What our Years 7, 8 & 9 Data Drop Grade Descriptors mean.
Curriculum Intent
While attending Sir William Ramsay School students will develop their ability and ambition to communicate with native speakers in speech and writing broadening students’ horizons and encouraging them to step beyond familiar cultural boundaries and develop new ways of seeing the world. The students will develop transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving skills and will enrich students’ use of their mother tongue through comparison of the language and culture of another country. The curriculum has been designed to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential promoting transferable skills to a wide range of careers.
As a Faculty, we are moving towards students having access to two languages, Spanish and French. The curriculum has been revised so that the Year 7 2021/22 cohort are studying both languages and this will be their curriculum moving forwards into Year 8 and 9.
